The Vinyl Revival, and the shops that made it happen

Graham Jones’s book, published in 2018 tells the story of the vinyl revival through the eyes of those that made it happen: the owners and the staff of the record shops who take part in Record Store Day. It is the definitive story of vinyl's comeback and the inspiration for the film of the same name.

Drawing on his experience selling to record shops across four decades, Jones’s book icludes a comprehensive guide to record shops in the UK and he first came to visit us in the very early days when we have just opened our previous shop, and we're featured on page 101 - seems a lifetime ago now!

As one of the founders of Proper Music Group, Jones is more than qualified to write on the subject and has spent 30 years visiting independent record shops - his previous book Last Shop Standing was serialised by The Independent.
